Automate quote generation: using funding in Austria

For digitalization projects like automating quote generation, there are several funding programs in Austria. Which ones are relevant, which deadlines to observe, and where the most common mistake lies.

In short

For digitalization projects, there are several funding programs in Austria, such as KMU.DIGITAL or the aws digitalization funding. Whether and to what extent one of these is currently relevant for your project, we'll review with you individually. Current conditions: kmudigital.at, aws.at. In any case, the order is crucial: first the approved application, then the commission for automating quote generation.

01 — Funding

Subsidies in Austria

For digitalization projects, there are several funding programs in Austria, such as KMU.DIGITAL or the aws digitalization funding. Whether and to what extent one of these is currently relevant for your project, we'll review with you individually. Current conditions: kmudigital.at, aws.at.

Which program is relevant, how high the subsidy currently is, and whether the budget for the current funding period is still open changes regularly — plus there are regional funding programs that vary by federal state. Only the information from the funding agencies themselves is reliable, not a fixed percentage stated here.

The most common mistake is always the same: commission first, then want funding. That doesn't work. Allow several weeks of lead time for application and approval.

02 — Price

Depending on the complexity of the calculation. A fixed price can only be quoted seriously after the initial meeting — write to us briefly about your project, and we'll send a proposal that fits the scope and effort.

03 — Process

How a funding application works

  1. Check funding program

Which program fits the project and company size. This determines the subsidy amount and effort.

  2. Obtain quote

A quote is usually required for the application — commissioning does not happen yet.

  3. Submit application

Submission with project description, cost breakdown and schedule.

  4. Wait for approval

Only after approval is the commission placed. If you commission earlier, you lose the funding.

  5. Implement and settle accounts

After completion, final accounting with supporting documents follows.

04 — Questions

Frequently asked questions

Can we use different templates for different customer groups?

Yes, such as different terms for new customers, existing customers, or resellers. The right template is automatically preselected based on the request.

Does this work if we offer multiple languages?

Yes, text modules can be stored per language. The system automatically selects the right language based on the customer.

What does the follow-up do?

More than most expect. A significant number of quotes simply go unanswered. An automatic reminder after seven and fourteen days recovers some of them without anyone having to remember.

Doesn't that lose the personal touch?

The personal part stays — it's just not retyped every time. Building blocks handle the standard sections, you write the paragraph that actually speaks to the specific case. Usually the personal part gets better because you have time for it.

Who can change prices in the library?

You decide — usually one or two authorized people, so incorrect prices don't accidentally slip into a quote. Changes then apply immediately to all future quotes.

How fast is “fast”?

In the projects we've built, going from several hours to under thirty minutes is the norm — most of that time goes to review, not creation.

Does this work for quote-intensive calculations?

For rule-based calculations, yes. Where each item needs individual estimation, automation helps with structure and math, not estimation.

Next step

Let's talk briefly about whether this makes sense for you.

A twenty-minute conversation is usually enough to clarify whether a project makes sense. If not, we'll say so — that's cheaper for both sides than an offer nobody needs.
